Harm is being done to our nation, future generations. Our country does not run like a tech industry.

Witnessing the violence and illogical actions of our current federal administration, I have been paying attention to the actions or inactions of our congressional elected officials. I have listened to questions being asked in committee hearings and the demands for answers regarding unelected, unqualified, individuals being given access to our nation’s economy, safety, and security mechanisms. I think of the destructive measures and feelings of chaos being created at the federal level to push forward unethical and illegal practices that benefit a few individuals and not our national health and vitality. The current administration and Republican actions are devastating the livelihoods of people in our region, district, and country.
Our country is not a start-up business. Our country does not run like a tech industry. This is life and death for many people. This is having a home, feeling valued, feeding one’s children, and contributing to our future generations and the world. What are we investing in as a nation? At the moment, not our families.
The challenge is that some in Congress, like Rep. Pete Stauber, seem to be sitting back and watching, apparently thinking they know what is best for our communities and overall national interests when, in reality, the current administration and those aligning with it are operating in fear because of apparently unlawful actions in which they are participating. Being silent is a form of alignment and agreement to what is currently taking place at the federal level.
I want to remind people who live in our community that we have the power to create a different reality and future, even if it may not feel that way. We have the power to make change. We can feel that power when we come together for the good of all. Remember, we the people.
